"The moment you doubt whether you can fly, you cease forever to be able to do it." ~ Peter Pan
What a day and night!!! Shane Sweetnam, and the Tomeu Sisters just WON the 7th Annual Charity Event!! What a feat against 34 other teams. Shane on Darero as Peter Pan, Kaely on Belle Bleu S as Wendy, and Lindsey on Bonapart as Tinkerbell win $150,000 for their charity George Snow Scholarship. There are a lot of kids who will now be able to get incredible educations. This is really what its all about at the end of the day...http://www.scholarship.org/index.php…

From the George Snow Facebook Page:

Spy Coast & Preston sponsored our team in addition to corporate sponsor Fidelity Investments®. The theme of the event was "Fairy Tale," and our three riders dressed the part of Peter Pan, Tinker Bell, and Wendy from the famous children's story. Lindsay Tomeu (dressed as Wendy) jumped first at the 1.10m height with Bonapart, a 15-year-old Belgian Warmblood gelding. Kaely Tomeu, (as Tinker Bell) was next riding Belle Bleu S, a 15-year-old Holsteiner mare. Shane Sweetnam, (as Peter Pan) anchored the team at the 1.30m level, flying through the course aboard Darero, an eight-year-old Dutch Warmblood gelding. Together, the horses and riders completed the fastest time of 89.55 seconds to win the top prize of $150,000 for the George Snow Scholarship Fund.
“First of all, we want to thank every rider that rode in this event,” Tim Snow stated. “With the conditions that we had with the rain, they really had a lot of heart, and they gave a lot to all the charities that are going to benefit from this event. It was an amazing night all the way around. When our team came out, we did not really know what to expect. We met our team earlier and they seemed very confident, so that felt good. But when they went out and they turned in the time that they did, which was so substantially under everybody else, we could not believe it. It was amazing. They are obviously a very talented team and they showed it tonight for sure.”

The George Snow Scholarship Fund wishes to thank our riders, team sponsors, the Bellissimo Family and everyone involved in this amazing event.

NAL Champions Again - Lindsey Tomeu on Bonapart and Logan Marksbury right behind on Evano S

Lindsey Tomeu and Logan Marksbury were waiting to give Michael Delfiandra his belated birthday present. And what a present...finishing 1st and 2nd in the 2015 NAL Adult Jumper Finals at Pennsylvania National Horse Show with Michael on the ground training both of them. Doesn't get sweeter for Sweet Oak Farm. Lindsey had already topped the 2015 NAL in the Adult Jumper standings with Bonapart so she was able to go last in the order. And she defended her 2014 NAL Adult Jumper title with a clean jump-off and just a few seconds faster than her stablemate Logan Marksbury. Logan went first in the jump-off and went to the top. Nine riders later Lindsey was the last to go and she and partner Bonapart went to the top. Congratulations to both Lindsey and Logan, Bonapart and Evano S, for making Sweet Oak very proud today!! And thank you Al Ex and Santos Jose Ruiz, we couldn't have done it without all your help!

What an amazing week for the Sweet Oak Farm team…from riders, to trainers, to grooms, to friends, family and supporters. It was one of those weeks where so much goes the right way…which we know in the horse show world that isn’t always the case.

SHANE SWEETNAM WINS ALI SWEETNAM A LONGINES WATCH
Shane had an amazing week ending it with the Leading Rider Award and $30,000 check from Longines and a beautiful new Longines watch.

As the week progressed he kept on rolling – the only rider to have two clear in the $50,000 Grand Prix qualifier. Chaqui Z finished 2nd and then 7th on Sweet Oak Farm’s recent import Easy Contact Humlan. The points kept racking up -  3rd on Main Road (Seabrook LLC) in the $10,000 Open Jumper class, 4th on another recent Sweet Oak import, Special Line H in the Merrill Lynch Speed Derby, and Spy Coast Farm’s Beluga took away several top ribbons. Then to top off the week and put the Longines Rider Challenge to bed Chaqui Z was brilliant in the $250,000 Grand Prix finishing 6th. In the end it wasn’t even close – Shane finished with 355 points, Todd Minikus was second with 170 points, and Paul O’Shea third with 165 points.
LORCAN GALLAGHER TAKES A BIG WIN
