From Tryon to Spruce Meadows the Sweet Oakers are doing what they do best…have fun and be in the ribbons. This week Logan Marksbury rises to the top winning the Junior/AO 1.10m at Spruce Meadows, placing 3rd earlier in the week in the Prix des Nations, and 3rd and 4th in the other 1.10m Jr./AO classes with a double clear rounds. Everyone came away with money in their pocket this week at the incredibly competitive Spruce Meadows show. Abbey Soffer on Violetta was double clear in the 1.20 Prix des Nations, Brett Burlington was 5th and 10th on Anders Wictor L in the 1.40m Jr. /AO Jumpers, Lacey Gilbertson on Easy Money took away prize money in the Canadian Utilities Jr./AO class and Lindsey Tomeu on Bonapart did the same in a Jr./AO class, and Kaely Tomeu had a double clear on Capitol in Sunday’s 1.30m Jr./AO class landing herself in 5th place.
Shane Sweetnam was a consistent money winner this week in Spruce Meadows, ending the week with a double clear 2nd place win on Spy Coast Farm’s Chaqui Z in the $126,000 Imperial Challenge. Earlier in the week this same pair was 3rd in the 1.50m Cargill Cup. Spy Coast Farm’s Cyklon 1083 was also consistently in the money – 4th and 6th in the Friends of the Meadow Cup 1.45m division. And Spy Coast’s Venturo 9 was 11th in the 1.50m Duncan Cup. Sweet Oak Farm’s own Bijzonder was another money winner taking 7th in the 1.45 Division and 9th in the 1.50m Canadian Cup. Shane’s new mount Easy Contact Humlan is proving to be quite the superstar with double clear rounds in the 1.45m and CIBC 1.50m classes landing in 3rd place in both classes.
