Kaely Tomeu (Young Rider) and Brett Burlington (Junior Rider) represented Zone 4 at the North American Junior and Young Rider Championship in Lexington, Kentucky. Starting the intense four days of showing was Kaely Tomeu taking 8th in the Young Riders Welcome Class.
Next Up was the Jr. Team competition on Saturday. And under the amazing Chef D'Equipe Kim Land, Zone 4 Junior team, Mackenzie McGehee, Sophie Simpson, Brett Burlington, and Louise Graves,stood on top of the podium with the Gold Medal. With only one fault they won with a commanding lead over Zone 5/9 that ended up with the Silver Medal with 12 faults. Mexico North won the Bronze with 20 faults. Awesome job to the entire team and all the people who helped make this moment happen
Sweet Oak Farm's Brett Burlington and Anders Wictor L - member of winning Gold NAJYRC Junior Team - helped Zone 4 to the Gold with two clear rounds. Brett Burlington and Anders Wictor L finished 10th in the NAJYRC Finals for the Individuals. Individual results were the accumulation of 5 rounds of showing over the 4 days. Great to watch her take her victory gallop with the top ten.
Next up was the Young Riders division. After a very tight hard fought battle, and the results coming down to the last fence with the last rider, Zone 4 finished up with the Bronze Medal for the Young Riders Team. Sweet Oak's Kaely Tomeu on Fidalgo Van Het Leliehof was on winning Young Rider Bronze Medal Team along with Brittni Raflowitz, Kelli Cruciotti, and Victoria Colvin . It was a great day for the Zone 4 teams in both the Juniors and the Young Rider Teams. Congrats. This was a huge event for all and one of the most exciting for the year.
